The Place
Some things don’t disappear.
They just learn where to stay.
A shape where you don’t expect it.
Eyes adjusting.
A presence pretending to be absence.
It isn’t hiding out of fear.
It’s hiding because it can.
The Moment
This photograph was made in Kadıköy, by the sea.
A black cat was playing around a trash can near the water.
I stood there for a few minutes, watching it move in and out of sight — sometimes visible, sometimes almost gone.
At one point, it settled inside the opening.
The shape disappeared.
Only the eyes remained.
Nothing was arranged.
Nothing was interrupted.
I simply waited until the moment found its own balance.
This photograph isn’t about resolution. It’s about learning to stay with uncertainty — and recognizing it when it appears quietly.
